Certified Behaviour Analyst

The CBA certification communicates to clients, employers, and others that as a practitioner you are a professionally educated and competent behaviour analyst — having completed a recognised degree or certificate from a Verified Course Sequence (VCS) and undergone formal supervision in behaviour analysis. There are 2 pathways to becoming a Certified Behaviour Analyst: Verified Course Sequence (VCS) PathwayThe main pathway — comprehensive coursework requirements and supervised experience.
Requirements
Education: PhD or Master's degree (AQF 9 or 10, or equivalent in your country of study) in any field (e.g. behaviour analysis, psychology, education, PBS, chemistry, nursing, etc.)
Instruction Hours: Minimum 270 hours of instruction at master's level or higher (AQF 9 or 10 or equivalent), with a focus on behaviour analysis.
Supervised Experience: 1,500 hours of behaviour analytic experience: 75 hours of supervision + 1,425 hours of supervised experience.
Location: Live or work in Australia.
BCBA PathwayFor practitioners who hold a current, valid BCBA certification from the BACB.
Requirements
Existing Credential: Hold a current, valid BCBA certification issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Good Standing: Be in good standing with the BACB — no active disciplinary actions or sanctions.
Location: Live or work in Australia.
Ethics Agreement: Agree to abide by the ABA Australia Code of Ethical Practice.
