What is CPD?

CPD is the process of learning and developing your knowledge and skills while you work. It demonstrates your commitment to the code of conduct and your competency in the field of behavior analysis.

CPD should be reflective learning that is relevant to your scope of practice and the work you do as a behavior analyst.

Cultural Diversity and Inclusion professional development is intended to explore areas of cultural difference, including but not limited to: ethnicity, race, religion, language, gender identity, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic background. Cultural diversity and inclusion activities should aim to increase understanding, awareness, and skills in supporting diversity and fostering inclusive practices from a cultural perspective.

Please also note that any PDUs focusing on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) communities do not need to be delivered by an ACE provider.

How to Complete Your CPD Record

Complete the Summary Table Begin by completing the Summary Table in full, including your full name, certification number (found in your ABA Australia profile), recertification date (also found in your ABA Australia profile), total PDUs earned, total Ethics PDUs, and total Cultural Diversity and Inclusion PDUs.

Complete the PD Events Table The PD Events Table must be completed for each event and include the following: date of completion, category of event (learning, teaching, scholarship, professional engagement), mode of delivery, organiser of the event, and the PD category to which it has been allocated.

Allocate PDUs Correctly For each event, PDUs must be allocated as follows: if an event meets the criteria for Ethics, the number of Ethics PDUs should be recorded in the Ethics column. If an event meets the criteria for Cultural Diversity and Inclusion, the number of CD PDUs should be recorded in the CD column. The Total column should reflect the total PDUs for each individual event, including any Ethics and CD PDUs where applicable.

Note on the Total PDUs Column Please note that the Total PDUs column is calculated per event and is not a cumulative total across all events.

Sign the Mandatory Declaration Members are required to complete and agree to the mandatory declaration located at the bottom of the CPD record.
